Engine Room
The engine room houses the DAF575 120HP engine which provides us with more than enough power. This space also houses the 2 main fuel tanks of 1000 litres each one for red and one for white. The red diesel is used for both the central heating stove and the generator via a 100L day tank. White diesel is only used for the engine. Also in this space is the 1500L freshwater tank and the pressure accumulator which feeds the whole boat, the battery banks and the Victron inverter . Added during 2012 - 20Amp Solar controller linked to 2 24v 200W panels (400W total) connected to the main battery bank (switchable to the starter bank). Added in 2013 is a bank of filters and pump allowing water to be taken from the canal or river to keep the large storage tank topped up.
Generator Room
Actually 'room' is a bit generous - it's the forward hold and is accessed via a hatch on the foredeck. The generator is a 15KvA Makon driven by a Petter/Lister 2 cylinder diesel engine, the electronic management system controls the whole ships 220V distribution, for example, if connected to shore power and the genny is started the system cuts shore power, allows the inverter to bridge the time delay and then cuts in the ships power. There can never be a direct conflict of power supplies - the genny has remote start/stop facilities in the wheelhouse.
