Main Bedroom
Because we had decided from the start to live aboard permanently, we did not want a pokey little cabin and so enlarged the space so that a king-size bed would fit. This works well for us as 90% of the year we are on our own and visitors have been quite happy with the double sofa bed in the lounge and the double in the wheelhouse.
We have a standard size wardrobe and drawer units with plenty of under deck space for those less used items. Flooring is Pine planking over a sub-floor of particle board and insulation. To give texture and colour to the walls we have used flame retardant glassfibre wall covering ( much used in Europe ). The ceiling is pine cladding painted white and the main roof beam and it's support have been left open to maintain character.
The double glazed opening skylight provides good ventilation and light; there is a small opening window forward which adds to this. Due to the central heating pipes running through the room a cosy winter temperature is maintained without the need for an additional radiator, however one could easily be fitted.
A sliding door at the forward end of the bedroom provides access to storage under the foredeck, including the emergency exit hatch, the black tank and bathroom water tank/heater, this space is heated and so keeps all water pipes frost free. there is some space for all that stuff which you need but don't know when.
